Social Media Users In Indian Rural Belt Up By 100%

In its latest report citing the growth of social media user base in India, Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has made key revelations. The report says that Usage of social media upped by 100% in Indian rural by during the last one year. It's worth noting that 25 million social media users come from the rural belts of India.

The report continues with findings by saying that the growth of social media users in urban India was reportedly low with 35%. The number of social media users in urban areas goes somewhere around 118 million as on April 2015 and almost half of them are from four metros.

The report says:

"The fact that almost two-thirds of the users are already accessing social media through their mobile is a promising sign. With the expected increase in mobile traffic the number of users accessing social media on mobile is only bound to increase.

The report says that college-going students contribute to 34% of whole segment followed by young men at 27 percent. The school-going children constitute 12 percent of the social media users. In urban areas, college-going students and young men form the 60 percent of the social media users.
