Google's latest knock will limit its social network Google+ from acting as people's identities across Google properties. That means, YouTube and other Google properties can now be accessed without a Google+ profile. If key people from Google are to be believed, the search engine plans to execute this change in coming months. Google added that the step is being taken after considering people's feedback.
Now, all a user would need is a Google account to accomplish various tasks on Google properties. Be it to share content on various Google properties, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and engage in other activities across Google. That Google account used for accessing various Google properties can't be searched or followed like public Google+ profiles.
Those Google+ profiles that were made just to access and work on Google properties can now be removed by their respective users. Google believes that the change would lead to a better and focused Google+ user experience. However, when Google integrated Google+ with other properties in beginning of the social network, they thought it more convenient for users. But now, Google has finally changed its argument:
“People have told us that accessing all of their Google stuff with one account makes life a whole lot easier. But we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use.”
The latest change proposed would be great for both who use public Google+ as well as for those who don't. Google says that very soon Google+ will disappear from video steaming channel YouTube and comments posted here won't reflect on Google+.
